Ten Pearls of Wisdom
by Dr. A. Moneim Fadali

They All Long to Live

As The Early Bird Flies Away,

I pray for its safe return.

I dispatch the same prayer

for the lizard, the squirrel,

the snail, the crow...for all.

They all long to live.

Out of the Ashes

Out of the ashes come out the sprout, the budd and the rose.

Bear witness.  There, the garden of serenity is.

Right here...yours.

Words.  Words.

All words are mere carriers, an aggregation of letters.

And like letters must be opened to see, to read, to receive what they carry, what they contain.

As I Roam The Streets and Alleys

 Oh!  Corrupted decadent big city.

I roam your streets and ponder your alleys.

I sense your loudmusic, heavy beat, rush, gold, drugs, punk, parks, gardenias, ocean and sun.

And, right in your very center I meditate, reconcile the opposites,

make my own steps and ride the wind.

 In A Cross-Species Transplant Laboratory

A pig was being groomed to receive human genes to serve as organ donor for humans.

The pig looked to the animal experimenter and said:

 Leave me alone, will you.

I don't want your genes...I don't want to lose my innocence.

Dialogues With Birds

Walking by the ocean or taking a stroll in a park, as I pass by the pigeons, doves, seagulls and squirrels, I take notice.

If they don't fly or run away, I know I am alright.

They tell me so.

Unlike humans, other animals tell the truth.

Always.

They don't lie.

They let me know if I am adjusted or off track and whether my mind is at peace or in conflict.

I take their message seriously and sincerely.

The Language of the Universe

Your own entity is in the way of direct perception, a prism that deflects the emanations of the true nature of things
(objects, animate and inanimate).

For all are alive, broadcasting messages, yearning to be known and recognized.

The seer perceives the language of the universe and the true nature of existent things.

He communes with all.

And is in equanimity.

Talking to a Tree

Quietly the tree prepares its own food....graciously it gives us food, fruit and flowers.

Magnanimously it dispenses oxygen, indispensable for our survival.

Sweetly offering moisture and shade, nest and refuge for bird and squirrel.

I am talking to the tree.

And, it talks back in shade, flower, fruit and oxygen.

I acknowledge and bow in gratitude.

It is a dialogue.

Are You Prepared to Receive?

So, you complain, yearn and pray...

And you blame life and God for prayers gone unanswered...

Hold it right there:

Are you prepared to receive?

God's gifts are ever present, endless, but your preparedness cannot receive.

Inhale, take a deep breath...take a walk, the meadows are calling.

Calm; you are ready to receive.

Before Adam and Eve

They tell me, all is going well.

So, I asked:  What about the tears?

The weeping river?

The inconsolable bird?

And empires addicted to war?

So, they replied:  It is destiny, for in existence chaos is inherent; inevitable.

So, I said:  But all was in harmony and equanimity before Adam and Eve.

They laughed,

but I continued:

Humans rational faculty is in the way of receiving reality, each conceiving a brand of his own blending.

Reality was there before the advent of man.

His self-centeredness covered it.
